Associate Professor of Practice in Music Performance and Music Pedagogy (Violin Piano) (Multiple Positions) ()
The Academy of Music ( has rapidly emerged as one of the leading institutions in Hong Kong providing a rigorous and comprehensive music curriculum. Following HKBUs rich liberal arts tradition the Academy fosters creativity through performance composition technology research and pedagogy. With the new Jockey Club Campus of Creativity the Academy further expands its capacity to inspire and nurture the next generation of creative artists.
The Academy is seeking a distinguished music educator and accomplished performer for the position of Associate Professor of Practice in Music Performance and Pedagogy.
Responsibilities:
- Teach music performance courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- Maintain an active profile in professional performance and/or scholarly activities; and
- Collaborate across disciplines within the Academy and with colleagues across the University to further develop the Academys strengths in interdisciplinary research teaching and knowledge transfer.
Requirements:
- A doctoral degree in music or equivalent professional experience; and
- Collegiate-level teaching experience.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
