The School Operations Team is focused on creating the conditions by which our schools can thrive by successfully driving attendance enrollment and school wide systems; leading safety and crisis management; and providing exemplary customer service for students families and staff members..
The Assistant Principal of Operations (APO) a key member of the schools Leadership Team will lead implementation and maintenance of clear operational systems while building a data-driven service-oriented culture. This position is
central to the realization of our mission as it provides the School Leader and Assistant Principals (APs) the opportunity to focus almost exclusively on teaching and learning within the schools. The APO will therefore be an individual who embraces innovation and continuous improvement is willing to jump into projects and relishes the challenge of finding ways to work smarter and more efficiently all in support of ensuring the instructional staff and leaders can stay focused on teaching and learning.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruits Hires Onboards Develops and leads a high-performing team
Builds a strong and diverse team with an inclusive culture that brings out each team members strengths and ignites actions
Manages and develops others toward excellence in their role and with an eye toward their long-term development
Establishes ongoing regular cadence to facilitate collaboration training and support of the team
Progress monitors execution of responsibilities of the team with a high bar for accountability in order to drive operational excellence
Creates and Drives school-based strategies to ensure kids are in seats every day and year over year
Partners with families to set attendance expectations for new and existing families
Ensure attendance is captured accurately every day
Analyzes data on a daily and cumulative basis and engages with key stakeholders weekly to identify trends and key actions to improve results
Works with school lead teams to train invest motivate and implement attendance procedures
Partners with recruitment team to execute student recruitment efforts
Oversees enrollment onboarding verification and documentation compliance
Leads development and planning of cultivation efforts that ensure both new and current families feel informed and invested in their school
Design and continually evolve school-based operations policies and procedures such as arrival and dismissal
Implements an ongoing monitoring system that reviews and addresses family teacher and student feedback
Completes safety drills audits and documentation on given schedule
Ensures all staff are trained and understand relevant day to day and safety procedures
Ensure the front office and all family-facing systems are organized welcoming and responsive
Oversees regular communication rhythms with families regarding important school information
Informs and manages the school budget in partnership with the School Leader
Provides insight into non-personnel spending and data that can be used create a budget that meets the schools current and future needs
Leverages district tools to simplify purchasing and ensure school is in compliance with proper account management
Partners with School Support Partners (SSP) to ensure campus is safe and well maintained
Serves as school safety lead and main point of contact for campus emergency management and communication
Ensures students and staff have needed access to appropriate curriculum and technology
Partner with Facilities Transportation Child Nutrition and IT teams to resolve issues quickly
Qualifications :
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education and Experience:
4-5 years of related work experience
Minimum 3 years experience in operations or education
Preferred experience in people management
Bilingual: English and Spanish preferred

Strong project and time management skills; ability to effectively backwards plan juggle multiple priorities with great attention to detail and deliver consistent and timely results

Ability to pause and reflect to identify opportunities to improve procedures to make them more effective
Sense of humility customer service mindset and shows urgency and the ability to proactively solve problems and make decisions quickly

Skilled at leveraging communication understanding of the perspectives of internal and external stakeholders and collaborative approach to navigate complex and sometimes ambiguous situations in order to get work done
Ability to be calm under pressure especially in difficult conversations with families and staff
Desire to continuously learn and evolve as a professional
