Job Summary

Job Description:

  • Performs duties within the MA scope of practice to ensure quality patient care under the direct supervision of medical or nursing personnel. Completes required documentation in the electronic health record or other modality.
  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment takes patient histories vital signs and records chief complaints.
  • Performs office procedures tests and examinations.
  • Maintains adequate supplies for exam/procedure rooms.
  • Transcribes provider orders schedules return appointments.
  • Administers injections immunizations and skin TB test per protocol.
  • Performs venipunctures and lab tests.
  • Conducts office duties including copying filing scanning scheduling and document preparation.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills to create documents spreadsheets emails and calendar tasks utilizing Microsoft Office software.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certificate of completion from a MA accredited Health Care Training Program as detailed in Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) 32-1456 (D) or exceptions as listed in R(B).
  • Current completed fit testing for N95 particulate respirators.
  • Current completed First Aid Certification.
  • Minimum one year of past work experience in this position.



Required Skills:

Conduct patient evaluations histories and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients Manage and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension coronary artery disease atrial fibrillation heart failure and hyperlipidemia Order and interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs Holter monitors echocardiograms and stress tests Assist in care coordination for procedures or specialty referrals Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable) Participate in hospital rounds discharge planning and transitions of care Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes medications and disease management Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists primary care providers and support staff


Required Education:

Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one National certification (AANP ANCC or NCCPA) BLS and ACLS certification required 12 years cardiology or internal medicine experience preferred; strong new graduates with relevant rotations or RN cardiology background considered Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable working independently with physician support EMR experience
