Senior Trading Support Engineer HFT & Market Maker Trading Firm

Our client a leading HFT & Market Maker is in search of a dedicated and technically skilled individual who can thrive in their dynamic environment while applying expertise in a diverse technical position. You will be responsible for maintaining our trading IT infrastructure supporting the complete trading application and providing direct assistance to their trading teams. Candidates with lesser experience are also welcome to apply and may be considered for the Trading Support Engineer position based on assessment outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of critical incidents by diagnosing root causes minimizing impact and leading post-incident reviews to prevent future occurrences.
• Ensure the smooth operation of distributed multi-server trading systems.
• Serve as the primary expert for traders by offering hands-on support on the trading floor and direct application assistance.
• Manage UAT coordination and software releases in production to maintain stability and performance.
• Collaborate with Operations and Development teams to troubleshoot and resolve intricate production issues.
• Develop and implement effective monitoring and logging solutions to enhance system reliability and visibility.
• Automate and streamline workflows by creating scripts and tools to promote operational excellence.
• Foster continuous improvement by proactively pinpointing gaps and recommending enhanced processes or tools.
• Occasionally provide after-hours support and conduct testing as needed to guarantee smooth operations.
• Mentor and guide junior team members.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in trading support or a comparable technical role.
• Proficiency in Linux environments and scripting languages (such as Python Perl or PHP).
• A proven history of driving change and achieving results in a collaborative setting.
• Outstanding communication skills in English (both written and verbal) with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal abilities enabling you to excel in a fast-paced trading atmosphere.
• A passion for creating quick maintainable script solutions that are both practical and scalable.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to identify areas for enhancement while being aware of existing constraints and limitations.
