DATES: July 1 2026 through June 30th 2027

PAY RATE: $19.14

OVERVIEW

Founded in 1947 by Nina Vance the Alley Theatre is a pioneer of regional theatre and one of the leading nonprofit theatre companies in the United States. JOB STATEMENT

The Season 80 Production Assistant is a non-union member of the stage management team actively assisting and supporting during pre-production rehearsals performances production related meetings and events as determined by the Production Managers and AEA Stage Managers. The Season 80 Production Assistant multitasks on Alley Theatre seasonal productions as assigned and has stage management team responsibilities and duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES

  • Attend daily rehearsals and performances as assigned.
  • Assist the AEA Stage Managers in performing assigned tasks required during the preproduction rehearsal and performance processes.
  • Work alongside stage managers Stage Ops Supervisor and Wardrobe Supervisor assisting with running and coordination of rehearsals and performances as assigned including running/swinging production show tracks.
  • Assist Literary department with script management as well as production script management on new works.
  • Assist Production Management on assigned projects.
  • Assists Associate Production Manager on maintaining Stage Management spaces including inventory and upkeep of rehearsal hall and supplies.
  • Attend full staff meetings Organizational Cultural and Wellness meetings as well as professional development opportunities as available.
  • Study and understand the LORT collective bargaining agreement with Actors Equity Association (AEA) the union of professional actors and stage managers.
  • Adhere to the Alley Company policies including any and all safety policies.
  • Receives First Aid/CPR/AED training and is able to assist in First Aid emergencies.
  • Assist Production Management with maintaining prompt book archive.
  • When not assigned to a show serve as tech support and swing for other PA tracks.
  • If needed serve as Young Cast Coordinator on assigned productions
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Computer proficient with Word Excel
  • Professional theatre work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing during show performances.
  • Ability to lift and move 25 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where directions and priorities can change rapidly.
  • Schedule will vary dependent on production assignments.
