Job Summary
This Route Operator will be responsible for the operation maintenance and supervision of the assigned wastewater systems (primarily package plants) in the Louisville KY area.
Responsibilities
Operates and maintains wastewater systems
Maintains liftstations
Perform sample collection preparation and laboratory testing
Maintain records perform data entry and provide detailed reporting
Ensures completion of work assignments within specified deadlines and in compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and procedures
Analyzes and evaluates pump equipment trouble-shooting malfunctions and monitoring of wastewater operations
Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and infrastructure
Performs facility grounds maintenance including cleaning equipment and tanks
Perform general landscape maintenance including mowing trimming clean-ups pruning and other typical landscape maintenance tasks
Performs other related duties as directed
QualificationsJob Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Current KY Wastewater Operator certification required
Valid drivers license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Records required
Experience within a water treatment environment
Ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to read write compile and analyze data and reports daily
Ability to monitor control panels gauges and meters to ensure proper plant operation
Must be available to work weekends overtime and on-call as needed
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor in outdoor environments including extreme weather conditions (heat cold rain snow).
- Regularly required to stand walk bend kneel crouch climb and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted; occasionally required to lift heavier objects with assistance or mechanical aids.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights including ladders scaffolding or into vaults manholes and tanks.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle tools operate valves and use instrumentation or control devices.
- Visual and auditory ability to detect identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions or leaks in piping and system components.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including respiratory protection safety harnesses gloves and protective clothing.
- Able to safely enter and work in hazardous environments including those with strong odors loud noise and potential chemical exposure.
- Must maintain physical readiness to respond quickly to emergency repairs or system failures including after-hours or on-call assignments.
