Project Overview

Great Basin Staffing is seeking a Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) for a commercial renovation project in Camas WA.

The operator will be working inside an existing commercial building using equipment to excavate and remove large boulders and debris as part of an interior site preparation process.

This is a precision operating role that requires experience maneuvering equipment in tight spaces and active construction environments without damaging surrounding structures.

Operators must be comfortable working with spotters and ground crews while safely navigating confined work areas.

Key Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment inside a commercial building during renovation work

Excavate and remove large boulders debris and soil

Assist with interior trenching and excavation operations

Coordinate with spotters and ground crew to ensure safe equipment movement

Carefully maneuver equipment around walls columns and structural elements

Load and move excavated material as directed by the site supervisor

Perform basic equipment checks and inspections prior to operation

Maintain strict jobsite safety awareness at all times

Equipment Experience Required

Candidates should have strong experience operating:

• Mini excavators

• Compact excavators

• Skid steers

• Small trenching equipment

Experience with precision excavation in tight spaces or interior environments is strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years operating heavy equipment on construction projects

Experience working around active crews and confined jobsite conditions

Ability to work safely around structures and underground utilities

Strong communication skills when working with spotters

Reliable transportation to the jobsite

Ability to follow supervisor direction and safety protocols

Valid ID required for jobsite check-in

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods

Ability to assist with occasional ground tasks if required

Comfortable working in dusty construction environments

Must follow all PPE and safety requirements on site

Typical shifts expected to run 810 hours depending on project progress
