JOB SUMMARY.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides direct care for inpatient mother-baby couplets and neonates. Develops organizes implements evaluates and revises preparation for childbirth newborn care sibling preparation postpartum and breastfeeding classes for expectant and new parents. Develops organizes implements evaluates and revises preceptorships in-service programs workshops and continuing education classes on topics related to breastfeeding management for nursing staff medical staff and students of health care-related fields (RN ARNP CNM MD RD etc.) as well as staff education materials. Assists in the management of the breast pump rental station. Manages work flow in the perinatal education department. Nursing Patient Education (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of patient education in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge training and experience to be capable of providing patient health education services without requiring instruction from others.
