Position Overview

The Senior Account Manager is a key role reporting directly to the Regional Director responsible for driving business development and growth across Europe. This position involves managing critical accounts developing and executing sales strategies and fostering strong relationships with clients and partners. The Senior Account Manager will work closely with the European team to achieve sales targets identify new business opportunities conduct market analysis and implement strategies to expand market share.

In this role you will engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. Additionally you will prepare regular sales reports and forecasts negotiate contracts and provide mentoring and support to junior account managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in account management or sales with excellent communication negotiation and relationship-building skills and proficiency in tools such as Salesforce Tableau and SAP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage and nurture relationships with many of the top accounts in Ireland ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
    Develop and implement innovative sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share continuously refining approaches based on market feedback and performance metrics.
    Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities staying informed about industry trends competitor activities and emerging market demands to inform strategic decisions.
    Engage deeply with clients to understand their unique needs and provide tailored solutions that align with their business objectives acting as a trusted advisor by offering insights and recommendations.
    Work closely with the Regional Director and the European team to ensure alignment of sales efforts with regional goals and strategies fostering a collaborative environment to drive collective success.
    Prepare detailed and insightful sales reports and forecasts providing actionable insights and recommendations to the Regional Director utilizing data to inform strategic decisions and optimize sales performance.
    Skillfully negotiate contracts and agreements with clients ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company while maintaining a balance between client satisfaction and company profitability.
    Ensure that all sales activities comply with relevant legislation and company policies staying updated on regulatory changes and implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
    Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers partners and other stakeholders to support business growth leveraging these relationships to enhance the companys market position.
    Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounts implementing corrective actions as needed to achieve targets using performance data to drive improvements and optimize account management strategies.
    Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve products services and overall customer experience implementing changes based on feedback to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.

Qualifications:

  • Education Requirements:
    • Degree/MSC/MBA
    • Degree/MSC in Polymer science engineering or similar
  • Experience Requirements:
    • 10 years in a similar industry (polymer /chemicals industry)
    • Key account management business development large account management budgeting and forecasting for the regional director

Work Environment:

  • Physical & Social Setting:
    • Remote: Employees work from home or other locations using digital communication tools. There will be a workstation available at head office in Greenogue Rathcoole.
  • Work Conditions:
    • Travel Requirements: Frequent travel around Ireland to support top accounts and developing new business at new accounts about 60% of time.
