Description of Work
Reporting to the Correctional Food Service Manager this position is located in the Food Service Department at a multi-custody female correctional facility. This positions responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Management Preferences
Documented experience in sanitation preparing menus managing inventory and/or other large-scale food production
Documented knowledge of large-scale food production and food service activities
Documented supervision of employees and/or offender workers

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits. The selected candidate may be selected to work any shift and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staff coverage.

The salary grade for this position is NC10. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as or lower than their current position. If selected for this position a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience funding availability and internal equity. Based upon these factors a pay increase MAY result.
About Anson Correctional Institution:
Anson Correctional Institution houses female offenders in medium and close custody housing units. Anson CI offers a wide variety of educational vocational and training programs. Correction Enterprises operates the offender packaging operation at Anson a partnership with Union Supply Direct through the Prison Industry Enhancement Program (PIE). Family and friends can order a package of goods from a pre-approved shopping list to send to an offender. Orders are packaged by offenders and shipped quarterly.

Minimum Education and Experience
Some state job postings say you can qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience. High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND four years of experience in institutional food preparation and food services in management of a commercial food service operations or as a Correctional Officer OR three years as a Correctional Food Service Officer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications: Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
