    ROLE OVERVIEW
    The Senior Director Grants will play a key role in ensuring that all grant-related logistics and financial activities for multiple departments are handled smoothly efficiently and responsively. The Senior Director will lead cross-functional work streams to implement Federal Programs and will oversee the planning implementation compliance evaluation and reporting for multiple funding sources. The Senior Director also provides oversight designs organizes and manages all financial data analysis fiscal reporting and accounting processes for the district.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; preferably Masters degree or CPA certification
    • At least three years progressive business experience including grant writing grants management editing and budgeting
    • Strong grant writing experience required federal grant and proposal preparation experience preferred
    • At least three years of experience with state and federal regulations pertaining to grants management
    • At least three years of audit experience required
    • Strong Fund accounting experience in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
    • Managerial experience in accounting and state and federal reporting
    • Strong quantitative analytical skills including significant experience and familiarity with compiling and analyzing data to drive decision-making
    • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis and utilizing results to develop regulations and guidelines
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment required
    • A valid drivers license with current insurance and valid vehicle registration
    • Required criminal history background check physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

    ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
    Major responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
    • Oversee all grants district wide- includes support other teams in managing grants like SBYS ECE Perkins and new grant opportunities
    • Ensure grant compliance reporting and application deadlines are met
    • Prepare for state and local audits
    • Supports in preparing and gathering documentation for QSAC reporting
    • Oversee the reconciliation of all cash and account balances for grants
    • Draft standard operating procedures for grants accounting and train staff
    • Ensure all grants revenues are accounted for allocated appropriated reconciled and reported on a monthly basis
    • Remains current on laws regulations guidance and requirements for all funding sources
    • Oversees grant implementation and coordinates compliance activities
    • Attends all federal and state program training institutes as needed or recommended
    • Interface with funders on aspects of grant compliance funder meetings and other regular communication
    • Develops and monitors federal grant budgets and state budgets and files reports with state and federal agencies on a timely basis
    • Manages and maintains accounting records of the districts grant programs
    • Prepares all financial reporting and analysis
    • Provides oversight for all audits and reviews for journal entries
    • Provides support for annual audit process
    • Provides high level analysis of Districts budget and financial transactions and recommends both innovation and corrective action as appropriate
    • Maintains confidentiality of records and information and uses discretion when sharing any such information within legal confines
    • Adheres to federal statutes and regulations New Jersey statutes and Administrative Code Board of Education policies and procedures and contractual obligations
    • Ensures federal and state compliance participates in state agency monitoring visits and oversees reporting requirements
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Supervisors designee
