Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in conducting research to study augmented reality applications in neurosurgery.
- Collaborates on ongoing investigations concerning computer-based placement of external ventricular drains during neurosurgery.
- Assist in the derivation of algorithms aimed at tracking catheter placements registration of medical images automated alignment of face and internal brain structures use of navigation augmented reality equipment maintenance of code organization collection and analysis of data.
- Stays up-to-date on relevant scientific literature; writes scientific reports; presents scientific work.
- Performs routine lab maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Must be in good standing in UH Manoa Information and Computing Science or related graduate programs.
- Should be organized and able to work independently.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Ability to work in laboratory setting and perform basic biomedical navigation AI and AR/VR computer-based programing and experimentation.
