Start your journey toward success! DPS Alcohol Law Enforcement Division is currently accepting applications for Administrative Specialist II position.

This posting is for an anticipated vacancy. This position is expected to be available on February 2 2026.

The primary purpose of the District Office Manager position is to serve as a primary public facing point-of-contact for the Alcohol Law Enforcement Divisions district office while providing support with a variety of administrative functions and to ensure both Department and Division policies and procedures are followed.

The employee in this position will be expected to demonstrate the following:

* Experience conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to
individuals or groups: adjusting language or terminology to meet the needs of
the recipient.

* Experience presenting ideas in written form using correct grammar
punctuation organization and structure.

* Experience with data collections storage organization manipulation and/or
analysis of data; especially with Microsoft Excel.

* Experience identifying and understanding issues problems and
opportunities; use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.

* Experience maintaining confidentially in regard to sensitive information
and/or records.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Serve as the primary agency contact for telephone calls mail opening and
distribution.

* Ensure supplies are adequate and repair needs are submitted.

* Receive and process contracts and forms related to compliance check
operations including invoices for contractors.

* Receive scan and process law enforcement sensitive records.

* Serves as the districts DCI Terminal Area Coordinator (TAC).

* Operates and maintains office alarm and video surveillance equipment.

* Maintains office safety items mandated by OSHA and workplace accident
reports as required by law.

* Serves as the districts primary evidence custodian responsible for receiving
logging tracking and maintaining evidence seized in the course of criminal
investigations.

* Prepares evidence and the evidence storage locations for periodic
inspections and audits in compliance with ALE policy.

* Research and monitors internet social media platforms and DCI databases
for applicant or criminal investigative purposes upon request.

* Works in conjunction with the district members during special operations for
immediate intelligence needs.

* Produces a confidential weekly intelligence report for the district.

* Provide support with additional administrative functions of the office as
needed by ALE District Office personnel.

Salary Range: $39671 - $69426

DPS uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals.

The Minimum Education and Experience (E&E) is REQUIRED to qualify for this position. Management Preferences including Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) are not required but may be used to determine the pool of most qualified applicants. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits including paid vacation paid sick leave paid holidays retirement and health insurance. About the Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) Division:
ALE is a division of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. Alcohol Law Enforcement Special Agents have statewide jurisdiction to investigate any criminal offense and make arrests within the State of North Carolina. ALE is the lead enforcement agency for the states alcoholic beverage control lottery and tobacco laws. As such ALE special agents target problem ABC-licensed and illegal establishments that serve as havens for violence drugs gang activity organized crime money laundering and other criminal activity.

The mission of the Alcohol Law Enforcement Division is to reduce crime and enhance public safety throughout the State of North Carolina. This mission is accomplished through the proactive fair and consistent enforcement of the state laws related to alcoholic beverage control gambling tobacco controlled substances and nuisance abatement as well as other criminal and regulatory matters in the interest of health and public safety.
