Te whiwhinga mahi: The opportunity
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Data and AI Intern to join our dynamic data team in this engaging 3-month part-time position. Were seeking a motivated and reliable individual who combines technical expertise with a collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for their work.
In this role you will work collaboratively with the Data Team and support the development of data and AI solutions. You may be connecting AI tools to healthcare data systems building and testing AI agents using AWS developing MCPs (Model Context Protocol) or developing data models in Snowflake and dbt.
This role is fixed-term for 3 months working 22.5 hours per week.

He kōrero mōu: About you
- Currently or recently studying Computer Science Data Science Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with software development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferably familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) databases (Snowflake) and version control (git).
- Preferably experience writing SQL and/or Python.
- Preferably experience with dbt or CI/CD tools.
- Have an interest in working with emerging AI technology
- Have an interest in healthcare or public sector data.
- Proficient with Office 365 products and competency using video conferencing (e.g. Microsoft Team Zoom).
