Head Mens Soccer Coach Hendrix College invites applications for the position of Head Mens Soccer Coach a full-time 10-month administrative position reporting to the Director of Athletics or designee. The college seeks an individual to lead its competitive mens soccer program who will work cooperatively with students faculty and staff across the Hendrix community to advance and promote excellence. This position will work with the Director of Athletics to support the overall mission and vision of Hendrix College. EDUCATION: Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: Five plus years of collegiate mens soccer coaching experience preferred. Collegiate playing experience is desired. A successful record of recruiting developing and retaining college student-athletes is essential. SKILLS: Individuals must possess the knowledge skills and abilities described below or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities. - Advanced knowledge of coaching and teaching of specific soccer skills and techniques.
- Attend all athletic practices competitions as well as recruiting events. Travel is required.
- Recruit qualified student athletes with the ability to effectively counsel and advise prospective freshmen transfers and their parents regarding numerous aspects of Hendrix College.
- Understand and comply with institutional SCAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Skilled in communicating with college student athletes their parents coaching professionals and community members. Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Understand the importance of the student- athlete experience serve as a role model for the program/department and the college.
- Strong commitment to the small college environment with knowledge of the organization and operation of the College both administratively and academically especially regarding admission-related activities and fiscal responsibilities.
- Ability to work with many individuals concurrently. The capacity to be well-organized detail oriented and flexible.
- Work as an effective member of a team and manage and/or assist with implementing events in a cooperative and in a high-quality way with commitment to an environment that encourages and nurtures cooperation and respect.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk management and safety especially as it relates to soccer.
- Valid drivers license is required.
