Job Description
The intern will support the Illinois and Michigan policy and advocacy work bydeveloping aquote bank drawn from regulatory filingsagency reports expert testimony whitepapers or other primary sourcesrelated to key advanced energy internwill create an internal resource used to support legislative advocacyregulatory comments testimony and stakeholder education.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze primary source regulatory or executive documents including:
- Utility or state energy-relatedplans;
- Public utility commission orders and staff reports or other agencyreports;
- And legislative testimony or agency filings.
- Catalog verbatim quotes relevant to key policy themes with full citations and brief contextual summaries explaining how each quote is used.
- Identifyrecurring arguments themes and framing used by utilities regulators and other stakeholders.
- Prepare a final presentation summarizing key findings and patterns.
Interns willworkahybridscheduleand thereforemustbelocated inthe DC MD VA area for the summer a commutable distance to our DC office.A final project will be due from each intern and presented to the organizationat the end of the program.
Required Skills
- Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPointetc)
- Reading comprehension and ability synthesize complex written material
- Ability to manage document-heavy work
Preferred Skills
Detail-oriented; intellectually curious;strong writtenandoral communication skills; andinterest in advanced energy and/or public policy career
