Role subject to U.S. export control restrictions. Successful candidates must either be a U.S. Person (defined by U.S. law as a U.S. citizen U.S. permanent resident asylee or refugee) or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required export control authorization.

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford MI three times per week at minimum.

The Role:

GM Defense is seeking a highly motivated dynamic individual looking for an opportunity that will allow them to showcase their talents and have an impact in a strategic growth area. Our ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity and demonstrates problem-solving leadership with limited oversight.

How Youll Make an Impact:

  • Work with program teams and vehicle performance to assist in vehicle demo builds at Milford

  • Assist in tracking and resolution of build issues

  • Assist in readiness tracking

  • Actively supervise mass status of vehicles during build process

  • Assist trip captains/LDE with buyoff ride planning/execution

  • Assist product development in design execution and virtual simulation

  • Support vehicle performance in vehicle dynamics ptc/thermal n&v development activity etc

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuit of a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or Materials Engineering

  • Must be graduating between December 2026 and May 2028

  • Able to work fulltime 40 hours per week during the summer months

  • Participation in Formula SAE Baja EcoCar or similar professional organizations

  • Member of ROTC or other military group

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • MS Office products for issue tracking and resolution

Start Date:

This position has a planned start date of May or June of 2026.
