About the Role
The Events Manager will plan develop and execute both in-person and online events that meet organizational goalsfacilitatingconnections and knowledge exchange within the innovation ecosystem. This role also involves serving as the lead and point-of-contact for events we partner on with various organizations as well as managing Innovate BCs sponsorship program. They will support and manage relationships and general communications with funded partners ensuring alignment with program goals andfacilitatingcollaboration. This includesrepresentingInnovate BC at events providing ongoing support andmaintainingregular communication to keep a finger on the pulse ofevents taking placein B.C.s thriving innovation ecosystem.
Compensation: $76000-$90000 includingpayment in lieu of benefits until the employeeiseligible for the Agencyscomprehensivebenefits package.
Reporting to: DirectorMarketing Communications
Location: Vancouver BC
Work Arrangement: Hybrid role with a requirement to work in-office at least 2 days per week

What You Will Be Doing
Event Strategy Delivery
  • Manage events we co-host or partner on with different organizations ensuring clear communication and alignment ofobjectives. This includes Web Summit Vancouver sector development initiatives(otherwise known as Innovate BCs Road to Web Summit Vancouver events).
  • Manage eventlogistics coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Represent Innovate BC at tech and innovation events asrequired acting as an ambassador for the organization.
  • Manage the centralized intake and registration platform for sector development initiatives related toRoad toWeb Summit Vancouver and other events.
  • Create content for event registration pages and other event-related content.
  • Create and manage post-event online surveys and analyzes the success of eventsidentifyingnew opportunities for future events.
Financial Sponsorship Management
  • Track event budgets and ensures financialobjectivesare met.
  • Manage the organizations sponsorship program developing andmaintainingrelationships with sponsorship partners ensuring sponsorship agreements are met.
  • Develop and review sponsorship packages and proposals that align with Innovate BCsobjectives.
Partnerships Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build andmaintainrelationships within B.C.s innovation ecosystem to foster collaboration and maximize event impact.
  • Coordinate with partners on event promotion content development and audience engagement strategies.
  • Support speaker outreach and coordination including developing relevant communication materials to support their engagement.
Marketing Communications Support
  • Support and lead other marketing and communications projects as requires.

What You Will Need
  • Knowledge of B.C.s tech ecosystem is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Technologically savvy with a strong knowledge of MS Office 365.
  • Ability to work independently exercise sound judgment and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-motivated witha strong senseof initiative.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiencywith tools such as HubSpot SurveyMonkey Zoom and Luma (or similar platform).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an events management or similar role.
