EDC Student Internships - General Stream

We are actively recruiting early career professionals for the 2026 Summer Semester in a variety of teams looking for students in Commerce Technology and Analytics Finance Communications Marketing Project Management Human Resources and related fields. Teams you may be selected to interview with will vary and a more detailed team description will be sent to you if you are selected for an interview.

This Candidate Pool is exclusively for students currently enrolled in post-secondary studies and who are only available for a 4-month term from May to August 2026. Student Opportunities

Our student development opportunities include work terms and co-op programs designed to give your career a head start. All roles in this stream are strictly for four-month terms from May to August 2026 without the possibility of extension. While most roles are full-time there is flexibility for part-time work. Please note that work in our program can be counted towards an accredited co-op program with your university or college.

• Pursuing studies in commerce business technology analytics finance accounting marketing communications project management and human resources or related fields.

Our Ideal Student:

• Currently enrolled in post-secondary studies.
• Previous work term experience related to their field of study
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Motivated self-starter good organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Enthusiasm to tackle any task whether menial or complex
• Knowledge of both official languages is an asset and may be required for certain positions

What can you expect from an EDC work term

The opportunity to build cross-functional professional networks identify and pursue opportunities for improvement and innovation and continuously learn and grow through coaching and mentoring from professionals throughout EDC. Work in a high-performing fast-paced and flexible environment facilitated by technologies and report to any of our EDC Hubs across Canada.

What to expect from us

• You will be notified when we have received your application.

• We will be contacting candidates on a rolling basis from February to April 2026 for interviews dependent on business needs. #LI-Hybrid

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be Canadian citizens permanent residents or hold a valid work visa at the time of application.
• Applicants must meet government security screening requirements.
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in post-secondary studies.

Compensation Details:

Student salaries range from $42900 to $48750 annually based on year of study. Please see the salary breakdown by year of study below:

• 1st Year: $42900 ($22.00/hour)
• 2nd Year: $44850 ($23.00/hour)
• 3rd Year: $46800 ($24.00/hour)

• 4th Year and Beyond: $48750 ($25.00/hour)

Location:

• Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)

• Opportunities may be performed from EDCs headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto Mississauga Montreal Brossard Laval Calgary Edmonton Halifax or Vancouver
