The Position:

Reporting to the Associate Director MajorGifts the Major Gifts Officer will play a key role in advancing Havergalsmajor gift strategy and building meaningful relationships with donors who havethe capacity to make significant contributions to the School.

The Major Gift Officer will manage a personalportfolio of approximately 75100 prospects and donors guiding them throughthe full cycle of engagement from identification and cultivation tosolicitation and stewardship. This is an exciting opportunity for anexperienced fundraiser to help strengthen a culture of philanthropy contributeto strategic initiatives and make a lasting impact on the school community.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Managea personal portfolio of 75100 major gift prospects and donors advancing themthrough all stages of the engagement cycle.
  • Identifyassess qualify cultivate solicit and steward donors with capacity to give$25000 and above.
  • Collaborateclosely with the Associate Director Major Gifts to develop and proposestrategies for solicitation including recommending gift purpose and levelidentifying those involved in cultivation and ensuring successful solicitationand stewardship.
  • Craftcompelling donor-centered proposals that clearly articulate the case forsupport align donor interests with institutional priorities and demonstratethe potential impact of philanthropic investment.
  • Createclear accurate and timely gift agreements that reflect donor intent complywith institutional policy and facilitate seamless gift administration andstewardship.
  • Maintaindetailed and accurate call reports proposal records and donor information inVeracross to support forecasting and institutional reporting.
  • Supportdonor recognition and stewardship plans by preparing briefings assisting onimpact reports recognition activations and event-related materials asrequired.
  • Collaboratewith Associate Director Major Gifts and external partners on expandingHavergals Planned Giving program. .
  • Contributeto a high-performing team culture collaborating effectively with colleaguesacross the Advancement department and the broader school community.

Qualifications Knowledge and Experience

  • Threeor more years of fundraising experience with a primary focus on major gifts orleadership giving.
  • Provensuccess cultivating and soliciting gifts of $25000 or more.
  • Experiencemanaging a significant donor portfolio and progressing prospects through theengagement cycle.
  • Abilityto build and maintain strong relationships across an organization and withdonors.
  • Strongwritten and verbal communication skills.
  • Strongorganizational and analytical skills.
  • Bachelorsdegree required.
  • Abilityto work independently while contributing collaboratively to team goals.
  • Experienceworking with volunteers throughout the gift cycle is an asset.
  • Knowledgeof fundraising best practices in independent schools or the education sector isan asset.
