JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Director Advancement the Development Officer Institutional Advancement (IA) supports successful proposal fundraising and donor development at Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP).Identifyingrelevant bidding and funding opportunities in the public private and philanthropic sectors the role works closely with several departments to prepare quality proposals applications and submissions aligned with SNPs unique education and research mission strategic and academic plans operations and governance and operating policies of SNP.
The Development Officer Institutional Advancement (IA) is required to perform all duties consistent with the governance values and operating policies of Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) while fostering positive relations with staff students stakeholders and the community; contributing to a culturally supportive teaching learning and work environment consistent withHodinǫshǫ:nih/Rotinonhson:nivalues ofGanigohi:yo:/Kanikoriio(Respect and the Good Mind).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Proposal Development andExecution25%
- Writing editing organizing and formatting clear concise and compliant submission packages
- Preparing final submission packages ensuring all required content is included and the necessary signatures and stamps are affixed
- Providing research andanalysistofacilitatethe submission of completetimely and detailed narratives for inclusion in institutional financial and educational-sector regulatory reporting
- Other related duties asrequired.
Proposal Development andPlanning 20%
- Preparing submission timelines and summaries and clearly defining and communicating information requirements to Operations Finance and other staff and departments as appropriate
- Assisting in the timely response of questions posed by potential funders and donors regarding funding submissions
- Other related duties asrequired.
Proposal Development andCoordination15%
- Coordinating and supporting the proposal development process to ensure on-time delivery of compellingcompliant and well-written proposals
- Coordinating the production and integration of required data and information from departments and following up as necessary to ensure deadlines are met
- Coordinating delivery of submissions in-person via courier electronic submission etc.

Proposal Development andReview15%
- Reviewing RFP RFQ RFI and other invitations for proposal packages and assessing their relevanceagainst institutional priorities financial need and alignment with the Institutes values to ensure that submissions are complete and fully compliant

- Researching and identifying previously completed projects at SNP to help meet the requested specifications and demonstrate SNPs capacity and strengths (as may be required) to support new submissions
- Researching and identifying required sectoral data including environmental scans sectoral research differentiation and opportunity analyses gap and feasibility analyses i.e. labour market pedagogical and research developments education trends current and emerging government priorities and policies
- Other related duties asrequired.
General Administration10%
- Maintaining a current library of proposals applications and active grants project summaries and other resources to be used in various submission documents
- Developing andmaintainingprospective donor profiles and records in support of current and upcoming fundraising priorities and interests
- Performing delegated administrative management tasks

EDUCATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
Completion of a formal post-secondary college or university program of three to four academic years in Education public policy or administration businessadministrationor an administrative services field with experience in post-secondary education at the program management business administration or administrative service or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / CULTURE AND LANGUAGE EXPERTISE
Over 3 years and including 5 years of experience of successful proposal businesswritingor technical writing experience;Budget development experience;Project management experience;Experience working with elected officials and senior management within the publicprivateand philanthropic sectors.
