The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Great Southern Hub team in Albany as a Centre Support Coordinator supporting people affected by cancer while staying closely connected with our head office team.
In this role you will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Great Southern Hub cancer support centre ensuring safe effective program delivery and a welcoming supportive environment for clients volunteers and visitors. Working collaboratively with local staff and head office colleagues you will oversee centre operations in line with best-practice guidelines quality standards policies and procedures.

Based in the Albany region this is a part-time position (22.5 hours per week) with flexible scheduling including the option to spread hours of work across several days if necessary.
What youll be doing:
Support the development and delivery of the centres strategic and operational plans in line with organisational purpose.
Evaluate report on and continuously improve centre programs and activities.
Coordinate accommodation wellbeing and other client programs to ensure efficient bookings and service delivery.
Review and update centre policies and procedures to support continuous improvement.
Recruit train coordinate and support volunteers in partnership with the People and Culture team.
Represent the centre within the community building awareness through events local media and partnerships.
Act as a first point of contact for clients ensuring timely referral to Cancer Support Service Coordinator and support services.
Coordinate the wellbeing program including client engagement bookings and volunteer support.
Respond to general enquiries and liaise with clients families service providers and stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Significant experience in coordinating the delivery of human services or community centre coordination
High level administrative skills including basic record keeping and bookkeeping
Experience coordinating contractors personnel and visitors in a busy environment
A tertiary qualification in health community/social services or management (Desirable)
Demonstrated understanding of the support and information needs of people affected by cancer their carers and their families (Desirable)
Highly developed computer skills including previous experience with databases and Microsoft Suite
High level planning organisational skills and an ability to prioritise a diverse workload
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills particularly in the areas of negotiation conflict resolution problem solving and written report writing expertise
Experience of working within the context of a not-for-profit organisation. (Desirable)
Ability to respond appropriately to the needs of people from diverse cultural backgrounds particularly those experiencing hardship through cancer
Ability to work autonomously
Experience working with volunteers
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
