The Opportunity:
The Multnomah County Transportation Division is seeking an energetic and motivated full-time Transportation Project Specialist to join our Bridge Engineering team. This is a unique chance to work on complex capital improvement projects on Portlands iconic Willamette River bridges and contribute to a safe and efficient transportation system that supports economic and community vitality.
As a Transportation Project Specialist you will manage and lead the design and construction of capital projects of intermediate complexity on County roads and bridges. You will coordinate with project teams review contract documents implement state and federal regulations and communicate with Division management to ensure on time and on budget completion. You will have strong project management skills and have the ability to work in a highly flexible and team-oriented environment.

With 297 miles of roads six large Willamette River bridges over 20 smaller bridges and over 1750 culverts to manage our staff is committed to maintaining the communitys livability. Type of Position: This hourly union-represented position is eligible for overtime.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (flexible schedules may be allowed)
Location: Multnomah County Bridge Shop: 1403 SE Water Ave. Portland OR 97214
Telework: At this time this position is designated for hybrid telework meaning you will be working on-site at least three (3) days per week. The designation of hybrid telework may be subject to change at a future time. Currently all employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the County cannot support ongoing telework from other locations.

Serving the Public Even During Disasters
Everyday Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather natural disaster or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
