Job Summary
- Manage and coordinate transportation operation by tracking freight from origin to destination
- Communicate closely with customers to ensure smooth operation without issues and service satisfaction
- Proactively identify and assess a solution to cost incurrence such as demurrage detention and work for smooth resolution to protect company and customers
- Monitor carrier performance continually and evaluate with feedback provided on a routine basis
- Communicate with carriers & associated vendors on a frequent and consistent basis
- Process container returns bobtail decisions related to overall logistics operation for proper handling of business
- Other responsibilities as required by the Site Manager
Qualifications :
- 3 years operation or logistics related relevant experience
- Strong understanding of freight & logistics systems
- Bachelors Degree preferred High school GED required
- Ability to effectively work under the pressure of deadlines in a multi-task production environment
- Detail oriented with the ability to thoroughly research analyze and develop solutions to complex processing and workflow issues
- Ability to quickly grasp situational issues and derive solution to problem
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel with v-lookups and pivot tables
- Excellent presentation communication and organizational skills including effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate with various levels of the organization
