Responsibilities
- Receive enter and process prescription orders under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Prepare label and package medications for dispensing including non-sterile compounding.
- Maintain accurate patient profiles and prescription records.
- Deliver medications or supplies to the appropriate team patient or department per policy or protocol.
- Responsible for the proper storage and security of medications supplies and equipment in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures and all applicable laws.
- Greet and assist patients in person at bedside and by phone in a professional courteous manner.
- Answer routine questions and direct clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Resolve basic insurance and billing issues to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Process point-of-sale transactions and handle cash/credit payments.
Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Licenses/Certifications:
- IL Cert Pharmacy Tech; IA preferred.
- National Certification from one of the following:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
- National Healthcareer Association
- Class 1 Driver License (IA IL or WI)
- Proof of Auto Insurance
Experience: 1 year pharmacy technician experience.
