Job Summary

Job Description:
A Safety Officerdevelops implements and enforces workplace safety policies ensuring compliance withOHS regulationsby conducting risk assessments inspections and training investigating incidents and promoting a culture of safety to prevent accidents and maintain a healthy environment for all employees. Their role involves proactive hazard identification policy development employee engagement and meticulous record-keeping across diverse industries like construction manufacturing healthcare and even offices.
Key Responsibilities
    • Policy & Compliance: Create update and enforce safety policies and procedures ensuring adherence to local national and international OHS standards (e.g. OSHA).
    • Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments identify hazards and implement preventive measures and controls
      .
  • Inspections & Audits: Perform routine site inspections and audits to detect unsafe conditions equipment or practices.
  • Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver safety training drills and awareness programs (e.g. toolbox talks emergency response).
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents near misses and complaints preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed records of safety activities inspections training and incidents.
  • Liaison: Communicate with management employees and regulatory bodies to foster a strong safety culture.

  • Identify Hazards: Proactively walk the site to spot potential dangers before incidents occur.
  • Review High-Risk Work: Oversee fall protection confined spaces energized work etc..
  • Ensure Documentation: Verify that permits inspections and safety talks are completed.
