Job Description:

A Safety Officerdevelops implements and enforces workplace safety policies ensuring compliance withOHS regulationsby conducting risk assessments inspections and training investigating incidents and promoting a culture of safety to prevent accidents and maintain a healthy environment for all employees. Their role involves proactive hazard identification policy development employee engagement and meticulous record-keeping across diverse industries like construction manufacturing healthcare and even offices.

Key Responsibilities

Policy & Compliance: Create update and enforce safety policies and procedures ensuring adherence to local national and international OHS standards (e.g. OSHA).
Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments identify hazards and implement preventive measures and controls

Inspections & Audits: Perform routine site inspections and audits to detect unsafe conditions equipment or practices.

Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver safety training drills and awareness programs (e.g. toolbox talks emergency response).

Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents near misses and complaints preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.

Reporting: Maintain detailed records of safety activities inspections training and incidents.

Liaison: Communicate with management employees and regulatory bodies to foster a strong safety culture.
