Job Summary

Strategy & Planning

Develop and update the IT disaster recovery structure to support business continuity strategies.
Perform risk assessments and business impact evaluations to determine key systems and dependencies.
Work alongside stakeholders to establish Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).

Execution & Maintenance

Produce and maintain disaster recovery processes documentation and policies.
Manage the delivery of DR solutions across applications infrastructure and data environments.
Ensure disaster recovery procedures incorporate external vendors and cloud services.

Testing & Evaluation

Organise and conduct periodic disaster recovery exercises and simulations.
Record outcomes and continuously improve based on test feedback.
Ensure adherence to internal policies and relevant regulations such as ISO 22301 and GDPR

Monitoring & Reporting

Observe DR readiness and present key performance data to senior leaders.
Maintain a catalogue of essential IT assets and recovery resources.
Produce assessments after incidents and suggest improvement actions.

Training & Awareness

Deliver training initiatives and awareness programs for both business and IT teams.
Serve as the subject matter expert on disaster recovery methodologies and new technologies.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science or a similar discipline.
Minimum of 5 years experience in disaster recovery business continuity or IT risk-related roles.
In-depth understanding of DR technologies such as replication backup and cloud recovery solutions.
Experience with standards including NIST ISO 22301 or ITIL.
Strong communication abilities and excellent project management skills.
Professional certifications such as CISSP CBCP or ITIL are advantageous.

Preferred Capabilities:

Experience working with hybrid cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP).
Understanding of enterprise architecture and IT service management practices.
Ability to operate effectively under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously.
