Experienced Veterinary Technician

Join our dynamic team at Marriottsville Animal Hospital an AAHA-accredited companion animal veterinary practice located in beautiful Howard County Maryland. We are seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician who is confident skilled and passionate about delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical abilities excellent communication skills and a desire to grow within a supportive team-oriented environment.

This role is vital to our daily operations and involves advanced clinical tasks direct client interaction and supporting our doctors with efficiency and professionalism.

Duties

  • Assist veterinarians during exams medical procedures and surgeries
  • Provide skilled animal handling and restraint
  • Perform advanced diagnostics including blood draws IV catheter placement radiographs urinalysis fecal tests and lab processing
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical prep and recovery
  • Administer medications (oral injectable SQ IM IV as permitted)
  • Perform dental prophylaxis (if trained) charting and patient monitoring
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure treatment plans are followed
  • Educate clients about medications post-op care nutrition and preventive health
  • Maintain cleanliness equipment maintenance and inventory restocking
  • Support front desk flow as needed to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

  • 2 years of veterinary technician experience required
  • Strong proficiency in restraint diagnostics surgery support and patient care
  • Ability to monitor anesthesia safely and confidently
  • Excellent communication and client-education skills
  • Familiarity with veterinary practice software and standard medical equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Positive team attitude and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate high-quality medical care
  • Credentialed technicians (CVT RVT LVT) encouraged to apply

Pay & Benefits

Pay: $20-$25 per hour based on experience and skill level
