Job Description:
The IFC Draftsman will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software for civil and structural engineering projects. The role requires translating design specifications and IFC documents into precise and detailed drawings that facilitate project execution. Collaboration with engineers and project teams is essential to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed drawings in compliance with the latest industry and company standards.
- Interpret architectural and engineering IFC documents to create accurate and detailed designs.
- Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and project leads.
- Ensure that all municipal and regulatory guidelines are adhered to in all drafts.
- Maintain organized records of all versions of designs and drawing revisions.
- Coordinate with engineers and project managers to gather necessary information and incorporate specifications.
- Update and maintain design databases and ensure drawings are appropriately archived.
- Conduct site visits to gather and verify measurements and other design specifications when necessary.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in drafting specifically related to IFC document processing.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD Revit or similar programs.
- Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering terminology and principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with engineers architects and project managers.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree or diploma in drafting civil engineering architecture or a related field.
- Extensive experience with IFC standards and processes.
- Certification or proven proficiency in leading CAD software applications.
- Portfolio of completed projects demonstrating drafting and design capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
