The Director of Law Admissions oversees operations for the admissions office within the law school supervising law admissions staff and making decisions for the office in the absence of the Assistant Dean. The role leads events and recruitment develops communications strategies and serves as the lead for data analysis and reporting on law admissions. The director works collaboratively with contacts within and outside of campus to meet admissions goals.Responsibilities:
Office Operations
Supervise the Admissions Staff officeoperationsand workflow
In the absence of the Assistant Dean supervise all functions of the Law Admissions Office.
ABA University LawSchooland University System Policiesto admissions matters.Regularlymonitor forchanges to these policies to ensure compliance.
Events and Recruitment
Coordinating alloff campusrecruitment travel which includes planning of recruitment with the Assistant Dean registration for all eventsmaintainingrecruitment calendar assigning staff to eventsdisseminatingassignments information coordinatingwith graduate admission on shared events.Attending off campus events.Serve as the Law School Admissions Forum (LSAC)contactandberesponsible forcommunication and registration for LSAC forums.
Represent the law school at educational institutions throughout Maryland the region and other recruitment markets.
Develop a strategicrecruitment planfor non-JD programs. This includesidentifyingand cultivating key student markets.
Communications
Authors andrunsthe platformsused to communicate with LSAT registrants test takers forumregistrantsand forum attendees.Currently using Unite as the CRS platformcreatesmultiple email communications for each type of prospect.Createsreports to generate emails.Schedules emails for mailing.
Develop manage and execute comprehensive email communication strategies for all prospect and applicant pools (JD and Non-JD) using platforms like Unite and PeopleSoft including creating reports content and mailing schedules.
Creates admitted studentcommunicationsplan.Creates multiple email communications for admitted applicants.Collects institutional data for communication content including placement data class data bar passagedataand scholarship data.Creates Unite reports to generate emails and the schedule for mailing.Generatesadmissionscommunications in PeopleSoft.SendsPeopleSoft admissions email.Assembles and mails admit packets to prospects.
Develops coordinatesand implements social mediastrategyto engage prospective and admitted students.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Coordinatespreparesandsubmitsannual reports to external bodies including but not limited to ABA and U.S. News. Analyze trends and outcomes fromsubmittedreports to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.Responsible forreporting ofprospective student information eventinformationand applicant information as.
Collect and analyze institutional data to inform communicationsand admissionsstrategyandensure compliance withNon-JDadmissions policies.
Other Responsibilities
Serve on University committees asneeded.
Work collaboratively with other departments in the School of Law and with faculty deans departmentchairsand others who contribute to the admission effort.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:Bachelors degree in a related field.
Experience:5yearsofprofessional experience in higher education or law school admissions with 3 years in a supervisory role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:Masters degree orJuris Doctoratehighly preferred.
Experience:7 years ofdirectly relatedprofessional experience.

Ability to work with diverse populations
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Understanding of how to utilize student administration databases for recruitment
Strong writing skills

Extensive out of state travel required. Some evening and weekend events required.
