Summary:
-
Supervise and manage QA Department staff including Chief Inspector Inspectors and Records personnel.
-
Ensure all inspections are properly performed and that inspection records reports and forms are accurately completed prior to releasing aircraft for service.
-
Approve implementation or changes to all repair station forms and tags.
-
Maintain current technical data for overhauled or repaired articles including manuals service bulletins part specifications and FAA-approved data.
-
Oversee calibration and inspection of precision tools and equipment ensuring records are maintained.
-
Prevent installation of defective or unairworthy parts and report defects per 14 CFR 145.221.
-
Ensure proper execution of maintenance releases and FAA Form 337 when required.
-
Implement procedures to prevent unapproved parts from entering the system.
-
Oversee inspections including preliminary hidden damage in-progress and final inspections and ensure proper tagging and identification of parts.

Maintain regulatory libraries and ensure easy access to completed work orders and inspection records.

Ensure compliance with FAA regulations for maintenance under 14 CFRor 135 carriers and contract maintenance per 14 CFR 145.209(h) & 145.217.

Serve as ISO Quality Manager (if applicable) ensuring compliance with ISO-9001 QMS including quality metrics corrective actions and internal audits.

Requirements:

Preferred: FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)
-
Minimum 8 years of experience in an FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Station with progressive supervisory and inspector experience
-
Technical degree in an aviation-related field (or equivalent experience)
-
Knowledge of FAA regulations maintenance programs and procedures; FAA experience preferred
-
Computer proficiency with Word Excel databases email and aircraft maintenance planning software (e.g. EBIS)
-
Process improvement methodology experience
-
Strong verbal and written communication business writing presentation planning and organizational skills
-
ISO 9001 Quality Management System compliance experience preferred
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
