Join Our Benefit Recovery Team as a Financial Recovery and Support Specialist!

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about making a difference In this vital role youll help safeguard Maines Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund by recovering benefits that were improperly paid ensuring these critical resources remain available to support Mainers when they need them most.

Your day-to-day will include processing payments connecting with individuals about overpayments and partnering with internal teams to keep things running smoothly. If youre looking for meaningful work with real impact and youre ready to put your communication and problem-solving skills to use this collections-based position could be the perfect fit.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Respond to claimant inquiries about overpayments and guide them through the repayment process.
  • Process payments made by check debit or credit card.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of the previous days payment register.
  • Set up and manage wage garnishments as required.
  • Collaborate with the Team Leader to process refunds accurately.
  • Cancel and reissue payments when necessary to ensure proper delivery.
  • Partner with Unemployment Call Center staff to troubleshoot and resolve claimant concerns.

Minimum qualifications:

Training education and/or experience in office and administrative support functions demonstrating competency in analyzing financial records identifying and investigating irregularities communicating policies and procedures developing action plans and using independent judgement to effectively address complex administrative matters.

Preference will be given to those applicants:

Collections Experience. Check reconciliation knowledge. Payment Processing Experience.
