The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction purchasing and contracting for goods and services maintaining facilities managing state vehicles acquiring and disposing of real property and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally the department manages many of the states advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the states population that have been traditionally underserved.

Job Duties: Assist in research and writing of memoranda and briefs for use in resolving and deciding cases.
Major Task to be Performed: Read and analyze record and brief of appeal. Research appropriate legal issues. Discuss cases and assist in preparation of bench brief and draft opinions. Check legal citations.
Final Product or Outcome Anticipated:
Drafted opinions bench briefs and other memoranda.
Academic Majors Desired: Law Students
2026 State of North Carolina Internship Period: Monday May 18 Friday July 24 2025
Experience in legal research of Constitutional Law statutes case law and treatises on issues arising in appellate cases. Experience in legal writing for draft brief and opinions for use by Judges.
