Role Overview
The Head of Communications will lead global communications marketing and brand strategy positioning the organization as a trusted world-class facilitator of investment and trade.
This role is both strategic and operational ideal for someone who can think globally while executing locally. The selected candidate will be responsible for crafting a unified brand narrative across all W2A entities ensuring consistent visibility storytelling and lead generation.
Over time this role will evolve into a Group-level function Group Head of Communications Growth & Business Development responsible for overseeing communications marketing partnerships and growth activities across the Group (HoldCo and subsidiaries).
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Communications & Global Positioning
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global communications strategy that reflects the Organization new HoldCo structure and expansion vision.
- Position the company as a global gateway for investment and trade in Africa targeting Europe North America the GCC and Asia.
- Lead storytelling campaigns and CEO visibility initiatives that build international trust and attract investors and partners.
- Craft strategic messaging and branding frameworks that unify all subsidiaries under a single credible brand voice.
2. Brand Management & Systems Building
- Build communication systems processes and order suitable for a transitioning startup environment.
- Establish uniform brand identity and enforce consistency across all entities Capital Trade Connect Impact Foundation and Farms.
- Oversee the design and production of high-quality materials (website brochures reports videos media kits).
- Develop and maintain brand toolkits templates and creative assets for internal and external use.
3. Growth Marketing & Lead Generation
- Integrate communications and marketing with business outcomes turning visibility into leads partnerships and revenue.
- Design and oversee campaigns that generate qualified leads for investors sponsors buyers and trade partners.
- Implement dashboards and analytics tools to measure reach engagement and conversion impact.
- Collaborate closely with the Investment and Trade Facilitation teams to align communications with deal pipelines and growth objectives.
4. Global Visibility & Media Relations
- Build relationships with top-tier international and sectoral media outlets embassies trade promotion agencies and development partners.
- Secure consistent coverage across reputable platforms in Europe North America the GCC and Asia.
- Manage press engagements executive communications and reputation management across multiple markets.
5. Team Development & Departmental Evolution
- Build mentor and lead a high-performing Communications and Growth team.
- Introduce structure KPIs and accountability frameworks for all communication and growth functions.
- Foster cross-department collaboration between Communications Investment Facilitation and Trade Promotion.
- Drive the evolution of the department into a Group Growth Division integrating communications business development and marketing.
Requirements
Candidate Profile
- Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in Communications Marketing Business or related discipline.
- 710 years of relevant experience in corporate communications growth or business development ideally within international trade or investment-driven contexts.
- Proven record of building and structuring teams systems and brand order in startup or scale-up environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing communications and partnerships across Europe North America GCC and Asia.
- Strong storytelling marketing strategy and analytical skills.
- A creative thinker with business acumen capable of translating visibility into tangible growth.
- Highly organized disciplined and results-oriented with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
