Description of Work
The Assistant Fiscal Officer serves as a supervisory accountant within the DHHS Office of the Controllers Northern Field Office. This position supports accounting operations for four state-operated healthcare facilities: Central Regional Murdoch Center Wright School and Whitaker School. Responsibilities include oversight of month-end close processes payroll support journal entries reconciliations and general ledger maintenance using NCFS and associated financial systems.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Demonstrated experience preparing general ledger journal entries in a multi-fund financial environment.
Proven experience supervising accounting or finance personnel and setting work priorities in a government or large-scale operational setting.
Documented experience preparing or reviewing cost reports or financial statements preferably in a healthcare or governmental environment.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in accounting
OR
A degree in business administration finance public administration
Or
A related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution with 18 semester hours of accounting coursework; and two years of professional accounting/auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive or analytical accounting financial statements and reports;
Or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
