About the Practice Group
Lathams Latin America Practice combines deep insight into Latin Americas legal and commercial dynamics with the complementary worldwide view of the firms global platform to advise clients on their most significant matters in the region from cross-border capital markets and M&A transactions to project financings and high-stakes arbitrations and litigations.
We regularly guide clients through some of the largest most sophisticated and precedent-setting business transactions in Latin America across industries and practice categories. We advise the full spectrum of market participants including private equity firms with Latin American portfolios multinationals with local subsidiaries governments seeking to privatize assets local companies raising debt or equity capital internationally as well as global financial institutions active in the market. Our international arbitration and litigation lawyers also routinely represent Latin American companies states and state-owned entities in highly complex commercial and investor-state disputes white-collar criminal investigations and other high-stakes controversies.
Our combined personal and professional ties to nearly every Latin American country give us particular insight into the key issues risks and business drivers affecting deals in every major jurisdiction. We are fluent Spanish and Portuguese speakers who also understand the cultural nuances and business practices particular to Latin American countries to effectively navigate complex deal dynamics to secure the interests of our clients.

About the Role
The Latin America Practice is seeking a highly qualified associate with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our 3rd to 5th year associate class. The ideal candidate would have a combination of project finance and M&A experience. Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency is preferred.
