Description of Work
The Special Operations & Intelligence Unit (SOIU) is within the Department of Adult Correction and is responsible for identifying appropriate security goals objectives standards strategies and technologies used. SOIU also directs activities of both Prisons and Community Corrections staff and oversees the collection analysis and sharing of intelligence information.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
This position is responsible for telecommunications and daily operations of the Division of Criminal Information Network terminal. The position reports to the supervisor assigned to Special Operations and Intelligence Unit (SOIU) Communications Center located at the Yonkers Road Complex in Raleigh NC.

Minimum Education and Experience
Some state job postings say you can qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience. High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of dispatcher experience and work efficiently under pressure; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications: Must meet applicable Education Employment and Training standards as required to be Department of Criminal Information (DCI) certified. Must be DCI certified or become certified within 120 days of employment and maintain certification by recertification every 2 years.
