The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work
This position is located at Anson Correctional Institution Polkton NC. Duties include data entry collection and making and reporting clinical impressions of inmates during assessment or in daily activities. This position may assist in group or individual supportive counseling in groups such as arts and crafts leisure activities horticulture and quilting. This position may be responsible for monitoring maintaining and inventorying supplies used for programming. Employee will monitor inmates as they work on treatment goals in a therapeutic diversion unit. Employees supportive counseling role includes use of crisis intervention techniques and referral to treatment staff as required.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
