Additional $3/hour facility differential for hours worked.
Duties:
- Perform skilled facility maintenance and repairs including carpentry flooring drywall electrical plumbing locksmithing and painting.
- Install repair and maintain locks and security hardware throughout the facility.
- Oversee preventative maintenance and safety inspections to ensure a safe secure and functional environment.
- Supervise inmate maintenance porters while maintaining accountability of tools and work areas.
- Complete building alterations and repairs including framing concrete finishing and flooring.
- Assist with seasonal duties such as lawn care and snow removal.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction industrial engineering HVAC welding or other building trade. Experience in building maintenance a mechanical trade or performing safety inspections investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis as determined appropriate by the agency.
Other: Must have valid drivers license. Must be able to work an on-call rotation. Must be able to lift 50lbs with assistance. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in the order: a medical exam and at a randomly announced time pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
