Job Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-plant field preparation such as measuring marking and setting up trial locations.
Maintenance and data collection of Tech Service Trials including but not limited to field scouting and rouging.
Harvesting activities which include the operation and maintenance of weigh wagons combines GPS units and hand harvesting equipment in addition to the sorting cleaning and conditioning of seed samples post-harvest.
Assist with management of test plots in all aspects of rice production.
Assist with the taking of pre-harvest notes associated with hybrid rice yield test plots.
Assist with mechanical and hand harvest of rice samples.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent. College students working towards a Bachelors degree preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully an individual should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Reaching above shoulder heights below the waist or lifting as required throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. Must be able to lift 50-pound bag of seed. Work and training locations may include office and warehouse environments. May also include dry muddy or flooded fields and other outside environmental situations including extreme heat/cold rainy or sunny conditions.
