About VACCHO

VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.

We have 34 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 65000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. We lead and support Aboriginal Community Control and the broader health and social services sector to deliver transformative health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal communities in are a centre of expertise policy advice training innovation and leadership in Aboriginal health and wed love you to join us!

About the role

This role works closely with the wider Policy team and is focused on providing them with administrative and organisational support. The tasks will vary and include among others:

• providing secretarial support to ensure the smooth running of the Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Partnership Forum
• assist in the maintenance of positive relationships with VACCHOs members and other organisations in the health sector.
• helping to track VACCHOs interactions with political stakeholders
• contributing to the development of evidence-based submissions briefings policy and advocacy campaigns and
• other similar tasks as required.

Essential skills/experiences

If you:

• have some basic administration support experience
• can use the Microsoft Office Suite (eg. Word Outlook PowerPoint)
• work well with others
• enjoy trying new things
• are eager to learn new skills and knowledge
• are able to interact well with people at different levels and
• have an interest in Government Policy and/or Aboriginal Health
