Job Summary

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Social Sciences Organization Development or equivalent disciplines
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with large-scale complex change initiatives

Asset:

  • Experience in change management as part of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation project is an asset
  • CCMP ACM CMP or similar accreditation considered an asset

Skills required for success:

  • Experience working in a municipal government environment is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse teams/individuals and managing multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Google Suite is required
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Well-versed with multiple change management methodologies with demonstrated ability to apply them appropriately
  • Experience with SAP products and applications is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience with process mapping best practices

Work Environment:

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $47.353 - $59.833 (Hourly)

Salary ranges are in the process of being updated in accordance with the recently ratified collective agreement between the City and ATU and will be forthcoming shortly.

The City of Edmonton is undertaking a significant digital transformation. As aChange Management Specialist on the Enterprise Commons project youll report to the Enterprise Commons Business Transformation Lead focusing intensely on the peoples side of this change. You will be part of delivering the Change Management Approach to maximize people leader and employee adoption and minimize resistance across changes in processes systems and culture. A core function is serving as a primary coach and advisor guiding executive sponsors managers and product owners on change leadership best practices. You will work closely with the Business Readiness team Human Capital Management project team and the Employee Services division ensuring change principles are embedded directly into their operations to achieve organizational success.

What will you do

  • Applies change management processes and tools to create strategies to drive project or initiative success and change adoption
  • Prepares for change by assessing the magnitude of change identifying key stakeholders conducting impact analyses performing stakeholder analyses and assessing organizational change readiness
  • Evaluates stakeholder readiness desired project/initiative results potential resistance and performance gaps in order to facilitate change from current state to desired state
  • Defines and measures success metrics and monitors change progress
  • Performs qualitative and quantitative assessments of change success and change adoption and develops strategies to address challenges risks or gaps
  • Identifies and monitors evolving project/initiative deliverables including changes in scope and potential conflicts develops and implements plans to remove barriers and resolve issues
  • Lead/facilitate and execute stakeholder engagement sessions throughout the project/initiative
  • Coordinates with peers to ensure alignment of change management plans across Enterprise Commons teams
  • Consults and coaches project teams to incorporate agile innovative and adaptable change management methods to increase success of projects and initiatives
  • Provides change management expertise to leaders and teams across the City through presenting coaching and guiding internal stakeholders on employee experience and change management best practices and approaches
  • Possesses deep knowledge of change management principles practices methodologies and tools
  • Demonstrates proven experience in applying these solutions to drive sustainable business results
  • Works closely with areas across the City to gain a deep understanding of business processes and the related change impacts
