At CCC we develop mission critical control system for turbomachinery control applications deployed worldwide.

The Turbomachinery Control Application Engineer will play a critical role in the design development and validation of advanced control solutions for turbomachinery systems. This position is focused on leveraging deep technical expertise in control theory thermodynamics dynamic simulation and new product development to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the performance reliability and operability of turbomachinery and related process equipment.

Location: Milan

Work Schedule: Full remote



Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong knowledge of turbomachinery control and operability including hands-on experience with industrial systems.
  • Expertise in thermodynamics calculations as applied to turbomachinery and related process equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability in the design and implementation of turbomachinery control algorithms.
  • Proficiency in modeling and dynamic simulation of complex systems with a focus on turbomachinery applications.
  • Background in new product development preferably within the turbomachinery or process equipment industry.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their integration with first principles modeling for analytics development.
  • Excellent problem-solving analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop turbomachinery analytics combining first principles with machine learning models to drive data-driven insights and performance improvements.
  • Design develop and validate turbomachinery control algorithms using simulation-based techniques to ensure robust and optimal operation across a range of applications.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for turbomachinery dynamic simulation providing guidance and support in modeling complex systems and interpreting simulation results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on new product development ensuring that control and operability requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct thermodynamics calculations applied to turbomachinery and associated process equipment to inform design and control strategies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of modeling and simulation methodologies incorporating state-of-the-art tools and approaches.


Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Turbomachinery control and operability
  • Thermodynamics calculations for turbomachinery and related process equipment
  • Turbomachinery control algorithm design
  • Modeling and dynamic simulation
  • New product development
  • Simulation tool proficiency (MATLAB/Simulink UniSim Aspen etc.)
  • Industrial control systems (PLC DCS) and relevant programming languages (Python C)
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Automation Engineering Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
