Practice Overview

Our multi-disciplinary pulmonary team is committed to providing comprehensive care for patients diagnosed with many lung conditions. We take immense pride in the strong relationships we build with our patients their families and our colleagues fostering a supportive and compassionate environment.

Our support staff is composed of registered nurses (RNs) medical assistants/ambulatory clinical technicians (MA/ACTs) respiratory therapists (RTs) and patient service representatives (PSRs). Each member of our team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice and the delivery of high-quality care.

MAs assist with patient care including taking vital signs preparing patients for their office visit administering immunizations collecting lab specimens and assisting in scheduling appointments. Time is also spent working through in basket work chart prep navigating incoming calls & supporting our RNs & RTs. Candidates for this position should be adaptable detail-oriented and possess strong organizational and communication skills. MAs play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office and providing high-quality patient care.

About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health youll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. Youll be a vital part of our team making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Successful completion of a competency-based medical assistant training program Required
  • 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
  • One of the following Required within 120 Days
    • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
    • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
    • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
    • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
    • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
