Working across our four private hospitals The Wesley St Andrews Buderim and St Stephens theSeniorClinical Coding Auditoris responsible forconducting clinical coding audits to ensure accuracycomplianceand consistency across theorganisation. This role provides education mentoring and support to clinical coders to improve coding quality DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) allocation and appropriateremuneration andmaintainalignment with Australian Coding Standards and funding requirements.The position plays a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvementcollaborationand professional development within the coding team.
Your part in our UnitingCare team
Conduct regular systematic coding audits across specialties ensuring compliance with Australian Coding Standards ICD-10-AM/ ACHI and Uniting Care Health policies.
Identifycoding discrepanciestrendsand areas for improvement.
Prepare audit reports with recommendations for corrective action and in many cases implement therecommendations.
Supportaccuratedata collection for funding reporting and clinical governance.
Support the Clinical Coding Manager or Patient Accounts Manager in on-site health fund audits.
Audit Clinical Documentation queries andmaintainaccurateandappropriate ClinicalDocumentation Query templates
Act as aSMEin the Clinical Coding and Documentation Improvement teamdemonstratingthe values ofUnitingCareand providingcoachingto the team on coding excellence.
What makes a difference for us
Tertiary education in a related field (e.g. Business Accounting Health Information Health Administration)
Demonstrated knowledge of the broader health care sector or experience working in a private hospital environment
Ability to manage or support multiple projects with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a highly motivated team environment
Strong professional manner focused commercial acumen and operational emphasis to deliver on time
Strong analytics experience to derive solutions from data; verbal and written communication skills (including public speaking) and report writing
Experience working with Patient Administration and Billing and Claiming systems in the Australian Private Hospital contextwould be consideredadvantageous
Demonstrated knowledge ofcasemixand health fund payment arrangements in the Australian Private Health sector would be consideredadvantageous
