Employment Type: This is a part-time coaching position for the 2025-2026 school year.

Salary: The salary for this position is a $2000 stipend paid in two installments and the season runs from late February to early March 2026.

Valors Athletic Department is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Middle School Girls Track & Field Coach who is excited to share our mission of academic excellence and empowering scholars to live inspired and purposeful lives. This individual will lead our Middle School Girls Track & Field team.

• Follow and enforce Valors athletic policies and regulations outlined in the Athletic Handbook.
• Must be willing to plan and oversee the day-to-day training and development of student-athletes in the following track & field event areas: Sprinting events distance events long jump triple jump high jump shot put and discus as well as overseeing a strength/weight training program
• Responsible for entering athletes into meets via MileSplit prior to meet deadlines.
• Attending and supporting athletes during meets and championships.
• Attend Harpeth Valley Athletic Conference (HVAC) track & field scheduling & coach meetings.
• Create a safe environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of students.
• Work directly with the Athletic Department to ensure the success and safety of the program
• Communicate and work directly with the Athletic Trainer on injuries and rehabilitation.
• Ability to model live and reinforce the schools core values and mission on and off the field of play with colleagues scholar-athletes parents and the larger community.
• Attend coaches professional development and meetings scheduled by the athletic department.
• Evaluate athletes skill to develop and facilitate effective practices and game strategies.
• Supervise practice and competition as scheduled.
• Assist with getting teams to & from scheduled busses.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of school equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by the Managing Director of Athletics

Key Experiences and Qualifications:

Candidates with the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply for this position:

• A Bachelors preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and fundamentals of the sport.
• Previous experience with a TSSAA or state athletic-sanctioned school preferred.
• Flexibility with personal schedule to accommodate the needs of the athletic program.
• A proven track record of high achievement in your sport
• Grit and perseverance to work within a fast-paced start-up environment
• Commitment to using data and technology to personalize development for both adults and scholar-athletes
• Commitment and enthusiasm for working with an ethnically and economically diverse student body
