The Mission

We are a global product company where ownership is the standard not a buzzword. As our Team Manager - Software in Pune you arent just a manager; you are a Technical Pillar. You will act as the architectural bridge between our product managers and our growing Indian hub. You will own the technical roadmap for your core squad while ensuring architectural alignment across parallel streams.

Key Responsibilities (Areas of Ownership)

• Architectural Ownership: Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical designs. You ensure the GemOne platform remains future-proof high-quality and reliable.

• Technical Excellence: Lead code reviews and enforce best practices (Java/Spring) to minimize technical debt. You own the root cause for critical issues moving beyond quick fixes to long-term architectural solutions.

• People & Growth: Directly coach and motivate your core squad of 4 while providing technical guidance to 3 supervised members in adjacent teams. You are responsible for their technical upskilling and career progression.

• Global Collaboration: Partner with Belgian Technical Leads to align on roadmaps manage dependencies and provide transparent reporting on progress.

• Process Evolution: Drive continuous improvements in our Agile workflows and challenge the status quo. If theres a better way to optimize output or reliability you lead that change.

Technical Requirements & Profile

1. Engineering Leadership & Delivery

• Proven experience as a Team Manager/Lead within a product organization.

• Deep understanding of the full SDLC modern release delivery and Agile methodologies.

• Mastery of Jira and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

2. Java Ecosystem Mastery (The Deep Dive)

• Expert Java: Deeply familiar with modern Java (Lambdas Streams Records).

• Spring Specialist: Practical experience with Spring Security Batch Integration Data and Spring Cloud.

• Quality First: Solid experience with Hibernate and testing frameworks (JUnit Mockito Testcontainers).

• Note: Knowledge of TypeScript or Python is a significant plus.

3. Cloud & Platform Engineering

• GCP Excellence: Solid experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.

• Cloud Native: Mastery of Docker Kubernetes and build tools like Maven or Gradle.

• CI/CD Ownership: Ability to modify and optimize pipelines (experience with Bitbucket Pipelines is a plus).

4. Professional Attributes & Logistics

• English Fluency: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Global Mobility: Open to traveling to our Belgium HQ up to 23 times per year for strategic alignment.
