ABOUT THE ROLE: 6-MONTH CONTRACT
This 6-month contract opportunityto join the finance teamwill support the Legal Entity Controller in delivering the financial accounting function across all Coty Australia divisions in line with company objectives and with an emphasis on continuous process improvement. The key objective of this role is to ensure that financial reporting tax returns audits (both internal and external) and other statutory requirements are completed accurately and deadlines are adhered to. Own and drive the month end close process by coordinating the efforts of the offshore and local finance team members and providing hands-on support as required.
WHAT YOULL BE DOING:
- Coordination of year-end activities including year-end audit statutory reporting (i.e. preparation of consolidated financial statements to ensure timelines are adhered to.)
- Oversee accurate and timely completion of tax compliance including being a back up support for calculation of annual tax position; by annual mark up calculation for Transfer Pricing purposes full ownership of end to end fringe benefits tax (FBT) preparation payroll tax management including monthly lodgements withholding tax lodgements management GST control testing support and BAS lodgements management.
- Drive the review and development of reporting processes and activities in accordance with company policy and internal audit recommendations.
- Support local market users with all Fixed Assets related queries and ensure SOX compliance.
- Be the key point of contact for supply chain related financial matters liaising with regional global supply chain finance teams and local supply chain department including managing ad hoc supply chain driven projects with an eye for continuous process improvement.
- Be the custodian of government reporting requirements such as payment times reporting ensuring the company payment times reporting is in line with the government expectations.
- Be the key point of contact for treasury matters ensuring the offshore shared service teams prepared weekly and monthly cash flow submission to corporate treasury teams are accurate liaise with ad hoc queries in relation to treasury report working capital on a monthly basis to the local leadership team and ensure treasury related SOX compliance requirements are managed.
- Be the key point of contact for intercompany transactions management (together with offshore shared service team) within Coty legal entities and within Coty Australia Tax Consolidated Group.

- High level interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Possess strong writing editing and presentation skills
- Be an entrepreneur and a self-starter able to work independently
- Good networking skills; an ability to develop successful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Good communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn and be able to roll up your sleeves to help the team as needed in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar Financial Accountant role
- Membership of a Professional Accounting body (CA or CPA) is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Solid understanding of Australian Tax GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
- FMCG Retail or any product-based background is highly regarded
- Strong system skills (SAP and Hyperion experience are highly regarded)
