Job Summary:
TheDataCenterManagerwill lead a small team of two people working on various aspects ofdatacentermanagement including physical device delivery and retirement preventative maintenance activitiesdatacenterfloor management hardware maintenance contracts lease management etc. A minimum requirement is 7 years of experience in a practical environment.
Job Description:
TheDataCenterManagerwill be based at our maindatacenterin Dayton and is a practical hands-on position to work with and support our various infrastructure teams to deliver all services for our globaldatacenters. A detailed list of areas is sampled below.
In this role the suitable candidate would facilitate the following by championing the environment to deliver consistent and accurate solutions processes and documentation audits and tracking to ensure all aspects of our globaldatacenters are understood services are delivered and to deliver improvements and cost savings.
DataCenterProcesses and Documentation.
Business Continuity Planning.
DataCenterCost Management.
RoutineDataCenterpreventative maintenance activities.
Service Delivery including quotes ordering site preparation cabling etc.
Server Retirements including physical handling and secure destruction.
Hardware Maintenance contract management.
Inventory management including rack elevations quarterly spare parts etc.
Hardware Asset Management within ServiceNow.
DataCentermonitoring including PDU power consumption power phase and PDU balancing for multiple power supply devices. Develop automated alerting of problems.
Manage hardware service vendors vendor relationships and portals and coordination of our onsite in-house customer engineers.
Lease Management including lease renewals or buyout analysis and planning.
ServiceNow CMDBDataIntegrity and Discovery updates.
DataCenterConsolidation and cost saving.
Qualification and Expectations:
1) Experience supportingdatacenters with complex and highly available infrastructure.
2) Experience managing vendors fordatacenters hardware maintenance contracts etc.
3) A good understanding of ServiceNow.
4) Excellent organizational and communication skills.
5) Customer-service oriented with good written/oral communication skills.
6) Ability to work with minimal supervision making decisions based upon priorities schedules and an understanding of business initiatives.
7) Critical attention to detail thoroughness and documentation.
