We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to support our daily food service operations. The ideal candidate will oversee the administrative aspects of kitchen operations maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment and help with event and system-related tasks. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth lunch service for High School Middle School and Lower School students while also supporting special events and maintaining compliance with food safety standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with lunch prep for High School Middle School and Lower School.
- Document the number of food items made and leftovers daily.
- Check and record freezer and refrigerator temperatures; log data on designated sheets.
- Serve lunch to students as needed.
- Ensure the kitchen is cleaned and reset after service:
- Keep refrigerators and freezers clean and organized.
- Support tracking product inventory and identify ordering needs.
- Organize and submit all invoices to the accounting department.
- Support events on Jewish holidays and Shabbat as needed.
- Fill in for the Kitchen Manager when they are unavailable.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.
.Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred.
- Be knowledgeable of the Kosher Laws and ensure they are being kept in our kitchens
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays.
